What does Arch Red do?

Nowadays we are actually a company group, which consists of Finnish Internet Engineering Company Arch Red Oy and Australian security (AAA) software vendor Open System Consultants Pty Ltd. Since Arch Red Oy acquired Open System Consultants Pty Ltd, we have focused into developing products and services around Radiator AAA (authentication, authorisation, accounting) software as well as developing Radiator itself.

The Radiator products and services have become our primary focus and business. We have developed Radiator further, designed and implemented features, which make it even more suitable for operator and carrier use. This year we released our new NFV compatible Radiator product, Radiator VNF and have released already the second minor version (2017.1) of it. If you are interested about what Radiator VNF does, you should check this Good News from Finland article about us or see our Radiator VNF video in Youtube.

We do not post a lot to this Arch Red blog anymore, but you can find far more material and things what we do from our Radiator Cookbook blog.

Products and examples - see things that Arch Red does

Product summaries page comes from the experience gathered from the presentations and courses we have given. There is always the moment when the topics are put together, so why not look at the products as a whole too? We already had the products listed individually, and now the summary page shows how they relate to each other, how they can be used to build complete systems and the possibilities to use them with products from others.

Besides products, the page has also architecture design examples. Our products are based on the knowledge we have about what works and what are the right building blocks for a successful design. Depending on the needs of the customer we can use our own products or choose something from the other vendors. Like the examples show, we do not always try to build everything from scratch, but take whatever works best for reaching the requirements.

Duration could be specified in the previous versions too, but only for anonymous accounts. Now the duration is also available for personal accounts.

Arch Red and Cisco power the NORDUnet2008 WLAN network

Arch Red and Cisco Finland joined forces with CSC to provide an eduroam(tm) compatible WLAN guest network for NORDUnet2008 conference 7th -- 11th of April 2008 in Dipoli, Espoo, Finland. The network was designed by Arch Red and build with Cisco 4400 WLAN controller and 12 AP1130AG access points. This gave the conference participants a choice of WPA/WPA2-authenticated eduroam(tm) network as well as completely open WLAN for unsecured, easy guest access. In cooperation with CSC the WLAN network in conference also supported state-of-art network technologies like IPv6 and multicast with enough bandwidth in radio and fixed network for all conference participants and also for streaming services. Arch Red also provided the RADIUS connectivity to eduroam(tm) WLAN roaming community for secured international WiFi roaming access.

By utilising Arch Red expertise and Cisco hardware, creating and deploying this kind of conference network was efficient and a quick way to provide reliable 2.4Ghz and 4GHz WiFi wireless access for all conference participants quickly.
